ECO Excellence Series: Residensi Bintang and Mercu Jalil Showcase Sustainable Urban Living

Located in the fast-growing Bukit Jalil area, Residensi Bintang and Mercu Jalil are two residential developments that exemplify the integration of sustainability into modern urban living. Both projects prioritise environmental features such as natural ventilation, energy-efficient design, and water recycling, while offering easy access to major amenities, public transport, and green spaces.

Developed with affordability and liveability in mind, Mercu Jalil is part of the PPA1M initiative and includes ample communal facilities, a triple-layer security system, and good access to natural lighting and airflow. Residensi Bintang incorporates environmentally conscious elements such as aluminium louvres and heat-reflective materials.

The construction of both projects was led by Alphazen Contract Sdn Bhd, which selected ECOConcrete™ from YTL Cement as the low-carbon building material of choice. This decision played a vital role in achieving the developments’ sustainability goals without compromising structural strength or project timelines.

Through strong collaboration with suppliers and careful construction planning, the project team effectively reduced material waste and carbon emissions. With the support of YTL Cement’s technical guidance, product demonstrations, and performance data, the use of ECOConcrete™ was successfully integrated on site.

Recognised under YTL Cement’s ECO Excellence series, both projects demonstrate that it is possible to build sustainably – without sacrificing quality or efficiency.
