ECO Excellence Series: M Vertica Champions Sustainable Urban Living

Developed by Mah Sing Group, M Vertica in Kuala Lumpur exemplifies how thoughtful design, smart mobility integration and sustainable materials can shape greener, more liveable cities. This large-scale high-rise development features five residential towers with over 3,600 units, and was built with sustainability at its core from the outset.

In this latest feature of the ECO Excellence Series, a collaboration between YTL Cement and Sin Chew Daily, M Vertica is recognised for its holistic approach to urban living, combining energy-efficient systems, health-focused design, and environmentally responsible construction methods. From covered walkways that promote public transport use to rooftop rainwater harvesting, low-VOC paint, and waste management innovations, the project integrates sustainability at every level.

A key part of the development’s low-carbon strategy was the use of ECOConcrete™ and ECOSand™, supplied by YTL Cement. These solutions helped significantly reduce embodied carbon while maintaining durability, and align with green building certifications. M Vertica also incorporated modern building techniques, such as reusable formwork and automatic climbing scaffolding, to reduce waste and enhance site efficiency.

As sustainability becomes increasingly central to urban development, M Vertica stands as a strong example of how construction innovation and ESG values can co-exist, benefiting both residents and the environment.
