Co-processing is a technology that was developed in the 1970s. Its fundamental goal is to transform the traditional industrial materials utilisation model of cradle-to-grave to the sustainable framework of cradle-to-cradle.
Today, it is recognised as a sustainable waste management solution globally, and has been implemented in over 180 kilns in more than 60 countries. More than 14 million tons of waste are co-processed annually, including 2 million tons of hazardous waste. YTL Cement plays its part by co-processing in excess of 500,000 tons yearly.
